1,9 to 2,1?

Post by BaxterHamilton »

Hello.

I am new to this forum so please forgive my ignorance.

I have a 1,9 GW (90 bhp, fuel injection) wbx in my oval. I would like to upgrade it to a 2,1 DJ.

Which parts do i need for this build? I am thinking stock DJ.
I just bought a 2,1 crank and flywheel. Do I need another cam? Can the 1,9 cylinders be reused? What else must I have in mind?

Thanks

you also need the DJ cam (or a CB2252)
and the DJ pistons
cyl heads are different
1,9 cylinders are the same.
the 1,9 rod's can be re-used as they do not use the stretch type rodbolts

the injectors , ECU and Air mass meter is also different.

I believe I am already running the 2,1 cylinder heads, injectors, ecu and airmass meter so i guess I am on my way.

How about an engle 110 cam and solid lifters instead of the original setup? Or can I reuse the lifters with the engle 110 cam?

Thanks

an w110 is not compatible with the small diameter hydraulic lifters ,
it will wear down due to wrong geometry.
and the w-110 would move the torque a noticable way up the rev's, making the stock ecu probably not provide correct amount of fuel.

look into a CB 2253 or CB 2254 cam

when swapping to a "bigger" cam like the w110 , the stock ecu should be replaced by a programmble one.

a 2253 or 2254 would also move the torque a bit :)
stock ecu's are limited!

What would happen if I only swapped the crank?

piston height is different on the 1,9 vs 2,1 pistons so you'll not be able to use the 1,9 pistons

How CB 2253 or CB 2254 cams work with stock digijet ECU ( DJ-version ) or which is the best cam/ratio rockers to get maximum power with stock 2,1 Digijet?
