thing leaning to the left

Post by rodeo »

Long story short, my 1973 thing was hit in the driver side front fender and now it is leaning to the left, if your sitting in it. I got the fender fixed and now i wonder what might be wrong ? Tried to keep the insurance out of it, so my buddy took care of the fender, but the kean is driving me insane. Does anyone know what it might be? thanks rodeo

You might want to check the frame head or front beam for being bent or twisted. The quick and dirty way is to put the rear of the car on jack stands, usually under the rear torsion tube, so the rear is level (same jack stand height) Then jack up the front until the car is level; put jack stands under it for safety then measure the distance from the ground the beam is at both ends. It should be the same dimension at each end. If not, take measurements along the pan also to see if and where the pan may be damaged/twisted.
