Seatbelt interlock '74 Coupe

I've done away with the stock seatbelts and wiring (or so I thought)

Every now and again when attempting to turn her over the interlock warning light and buzzer come on, and obviously she won't turn.
This usually clears after a few attempts, but I'm worried it's going to let me down at some point. Is there anything I can disconnect that will ensure this doesn't happen again?

Cheers, Russ

Marc wrote:...One thing you'll find in a `74 is the seat belt interlock system. The interlock was bypassed in response to public outcry by unplugging the sensor wires going to the seat cushions, but the relay is still present. It serves other purposes, like the e-brake warning light prove-out, that you want to have but there's a liability in having the starter solenoid current passing through it - eventually you'll have a no-crank.
If it hasn't been done already, I recommend that you bypass contacts in the interlock relay (J34) by snipping off the fat red/black-stripe wire (50) and the fat white/red-stripe wire (C) and splicing them together...
I don't have a schematic that's specific to the `74 `Ghia, but the interlock relay is wired the same in a Beetle:
