New here, not to Vw's

Post by Sqrbckguy38 »

Greeting everyone, I'm new to this site but not to Vw's. I'm on samba and a few other car sites, mostly for Vw's now. I have two Volkswagens, a 69 biege square, and a 70 red fastback. In my time I've owned alot of various other dubs, but loves these alot. I'm looking forward to getting a few things done I hope here, like mostly getting a MegaSquirt system to run on my 69.
A little back round, I'm from southern California but moved to Utah about ten years ago. It's not too bad, and I really look forward to getting atleast one of my dubs running soon now.

Welcome to the STF!

The VW "fuelies" are the easiest ones to convert as they came from the factory set up for EFI, and it does help.
The OEM intake manifolds are also very well designed, common and most importantly ~trivial to adapt to modern EFI hardware. (You are not stuck running 40 year old injectors unless you want to be)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
