Hey guys
Wondering if you ould give me some guide info for a baseline jetting on my 1914?
Spec is as follows
94MM B&P
110 CAM
CB 044 Heads with 40x35.5 Valves(no porting but semi hemi cut combustion chambers)
Empi HPMX (weber clone) Carbs 40's
VW Forged Crank
4 to 1 Header
At the moment, I am running the HPMX Carbs with stock jetting but I have Drilled out the main jets to 1.5mm to help flow, I could drill them ou a bit more but if I am to get some jets whats a good baseline?
Thanks
Craig

Hi Cragrobbo,
The HPMX 40's -- for your engine on the street -- should have about 135 mains and 180 to possibly 200 air jets. The idea with the airs is just to keep the carbs from popping back at idle once you have the idle mixture right.
At least I would start with 135's and work up. A 150 would be a big main for a 40mm on the street.
I do need to advise that drilling a jet kills its internal taper, which may or may not affect flow. I confess to owning a set of jet drills myself, so I am not without sin.
Your 1914 should really like the HPMX's.
