Vintage American Racing LeMans wheels from a 914

Post by LouieJ99 »

I found a set of these wheels for my Ghia. They need to be cleaned up but knowing how rare they are, picking them up for $175 was a bargan. Was wondering if anyone has used then on a Ghia before. Trying to figure out what size tires will fit in the stock wheelwells. They're 15 x 6 so I'm thinking like a 195/60 or 205/50 if they fit. Also not sure what kind of lugs to use.
Any input is appreciated.

any idea what the offset is? I run porsche phone dials 15x6 with 195/60's all around. front has drop spindles which adds a little width and I have to use 10mm spacers front and rear. can you post or link to some pics? porsche wheels use a 14mm radius ball lug just like vw's.

Finally found a pic to upload.
Don't know if they use a standard tapered lug or the flat bottomed shank bolts...
Been Googling these wheels looking for any information. Just found it they might be magnesium, not aluminum.

just look closely at the hole. is it a radius, like a ball socket, or cone? I think those use standard acorn lugs, not the ball lugs.

Tried to clean up the photo. This is the best I could do.
