I bought a rough KG convertible 3 mos ago. I replaced the heater channels
with 2" x 3" channel, replaced the floors & am currently replacing panels.
....here are some progress pictures

PS-I am still restoring cars at the age of 75

that's quite a project! I've been slowly doing about the same to my car but I keep it on the road so I hack, weld, paint, then drive some more. my only concern is it looks like you welded the new rockers to the floor pans. if so that means the car can never come off the pan.

Yes...everything is welded together. It is now a unit body car. You can jack up one
corner of the car & the doors do not move. It is very strong.
The body can still be removed but, it would mean that all the spot welds would have
to be removed first.

going with the 356 mentality, I'm impressed. I assume that you made sure the floor was solid before doing that or replaced the floor pans before welding it all together. given that they last a long time anyways I see no issue with what you've done.
