SubaGhia - '67 Karmann Ghia - EJ207 - Mendeola suspension

Post by KR250 »

Hello, I've been posting updates on my project on the conversion forum but figured I'd cross post here as well. As the title implies, I've got a 1967 Karmann Ghia doing a body off restoration as well as engine/transmission conversion, front mounted radiator, full Mendeola suspension, and eventually a roll cage.

I've also setup a blog website where I'm trying to detail the work as best I can:
http://subaghia.com

I've also mirrored a lot of updates on the conversion forum as well:

It's still a work in progress, and has been going slow but mostly steady. To recap the work so far I've got the body off (mostly rust free with some exceptions on the pan), working on welding in the suspension (front is in, still have to do the rear IRS conversion), have converted the Subaru transmission to flipped ring & pinion and 2WD, and other misc. bits.

I've been following along many of the builds and threads on these forums to gather ideas for this project. Here's a few pictures of some recent work.
