The old ones are higher quality than new stuff. I have a collection of old switches.

How much would you want for a couple of 3-prong brake light switches?
TIA!

Wrecking yards are full of OEM switches, they are stashed in modern front/sideways engine cars and are rarely the reason they got bricked.

Based on the photos, those are the PEX switches.

As Sideshow noted, you could likely walk out of a junkyard with a toolbox full of good German brake switches for ~$5ish.
Many European cars <mid 90s are a potential source. Relays are cheap too.
(I happen to need a programmable wiper relay if anyone has or can score one cheap)
Risking immediate failure, I have not needed a brake switch in years.
If I simply could not get decent ones I would set up a GM style (or late VW) pedal operated setup like ~all modern vehicles use before buying mystery units that could cause brake failure. I'm not that big a fan of keeping it factory to be willing to die for it.
(I feel the same way about early seat rails. So did VW)

You don't even have to bend over if you steal them from a 80s/90s Volvo. They are right by the hood hinges.
Edit snag the snap in fluid reservoir too.

No. not PEX switches. they are stamped 'FTE' on them.

You guys jinxed me. Read this post and 2 days later the brake lights stopped working. What do you think caused it? That's right, one of these suckers! Although mine are only 2 prong.

Maybe if I stop stomping on the brake pedal so hard the brake light switches will last longer.
