Does anyone know roughly how much lower the rear shock mounting hole is and also, if i want to run 4 lug on the rear do beetle rear hubs, shafts etc bolt straight on?

do not know about the shock attachment, but the stub shafts are interchangeable.

If it's steel, as far as I know (can tell / have noticed) the 944 & beetle trailing arms are identical. So a beetle stub will fit in a 944 arm and vice versa. Indeed, I did exactly that last week.

Alloy arms have two versions I think (with / without bump stop) but can't confirm the shock mount location. The alloy arms have a completely different bolt pattern where it mounts to the spring plate and also use different bearings so I have a suspicion (not confirmed) that the beetle stubs will not fit. Certainly the later 944 use a different hub nut.

Thanks Bruce. I have often wondered what the big deal was, but figure now, that the best thing to gain from going 944, is taking the disk Brake assemblies to use, more than the arms, etc... Makes sense now.

Scott,
If you use both the spring plate, and the arm, a bit of height adjustment/ camber adjustment is available via the eccentric bolt at the joint where they connect.
IIRC it works out to roughly 1.5-2" total adjustment without reindexing the t bars

mainly used for corner weighting

Thanks guys appreciate the replies, I need 4 stud pattern so if Beetle stub axles don't fit I will have to stick to my steel arms. I am trying to shave every little ounce off the back end as possible.
