powering a 1600 l-jet.
I use my 1975 L-jet fi as a daily driver . Planning to increase power and continue that use. I am considering adding a turbo. Before doing so I would like feed back on my alternative.so would you turbo or build a 1776 ? All opinions welcome ,thanks.

I could be wrong, but ALL the reading I've done over the years suggests that ECU won't cope with any change in engine size/parameters. The later D-jet can be messed with, but not the early stuff. You'll need a different ECU... In any case, ANY modern ECU will eclipse the L-jet in every way. I'd save up for a megasquirt or microsquirt. It can use 90% of your hardware and will work a lot better.
BTW, it's probably well past time to change the engine wiring loom too. After 40years it will be all hard, oxidized and nasty.
