what ever happened to.......

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

I didn't know prior to reading that HVWs link that Brian had bought Peter Perry's old race Baja Class 5.

I was friends with Peter back in those days and saw a lot of his Baja and his bright green and white Type 2. He raced AMSA while I did as well as a number of other series. There were things I didn't approve of in his build, such as the 1/2" thick rear skidplate...But I couldn't convince him to do it otherwise. He was bothered by having creases and dents in his skidplates and felt he needed one which was impervious to damage.

Man...We coulda met way back then!

It sure is painful to watch a 60K investment in parts (plus free labor to build it) sit with no interested for 30 cents on the dollar.

I'm wondering if Doc has received his official resignation and his keys to the door of the MODERATORS LOUNGE?
