Subie AUTO ECU but conversion is 'Manual'

Post by panel »

Just wondering how you guys are running the wiring so you eliminate the 'Inhibitor Switch' (Neutral safety switch) which doesn't allow you to start the car when is in 'PARK' or 'D,,2,3' etc.

Just went to start the bus and all I have is the 2sec fuel pump priming pulse.

impossible to say, seeing you are the guy that wired it. I use the OE wires from the ig sw to the starter. the ecu doesn't have any control over the starter. it needs to see a start signal, but for different reasons

Ok , I went through some tests and it seems that the 'hard start relay' had packed it in. Now that has been replaced and cranks it doesn't start. I guess fuel and spark tests are next?

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how to wire this part up. My ECU is factory an AUTO but will be going in a manual car. So all I have is the two wires coming from the ECU (b29-WB and b2-WR)and one of them splits into two. I think I should loop the two together to bypass the 'inhibitor switch' and then the single one looks to go back to a 12v + switched source ?

Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

The way I read it, if you're not using the neutral position switch is to run the WR wire to the wire you identified as IGN 12v and the WB wire to the wire you labeled GND to #2 on VSS.

I'll try it that way thanks for taking the time out to look through the diagram.

Whats the best way to check for:

-crankshaft sensor activity
- camshaft sensor activity
- injector time
- RPM
