Thing has an unidentifiable Wire in the engine harness

I have a 1973 Thing that has a Brown with green tracer wire in the same jacket as the generator wiring. It connects to a plug that goes to the firewall penetration towards the front of the vehicle. Can someone please look at their wiring harness and tell me what this wire connects to ? I do not see it on the wiring diagram.
