Hi all-

Newbie to the forum, and on the hunt for a Thing. Would be a first time owner. I've found one here in TX, but it does not have electric wipers, only a manual one. It's titled and inspected in AZ, so I would have to have it inspected here. If it came without the e-wipers, I'm ok. If not, I would have to add them, and would probably continue the hunt for a different car. The owner claims that some came without e-wipers. If that's the case, I'm ok.

So finally, my question. Did some Things come from the factory with a manual wiper only?

If you're looking to buy a Thing, rejecting a car because it is missing the wiper motor is foolish. Parts can be found and the wiper system restored. You could be passing up a good rust free car with no wiper motor, and buying a rotten Thing with one.
