flywheel o-ring ?

Are there different sizes of O-rings, for example, bug vs bus? I got one from CB Performance for my bug but it seems way too big. I was finally able to get it stuffed into the groove, checked for end play, and when I pulled flywheel back off, I could see chunks of the o-ring had been shaved off.

I bet that's the o-ring for a Type 4 flywheel.

The 5 bolt flywheels take a larger o-ring, common in late buses and 914's. Of course they all look the same in plastic baggies.

Ask the question here. What are the dimensions of the correct o-ring? ID, OD, cord dia is all you need.
Then go to your local hydraulics store and get a couple. Remember, all dimensions are metric.
The quality of the o-ring you get from your hydraulics store will be way better quality too.

I would guess Bus sized -5mm OD, take the one you all ready have in hand. Better ones are graphite coated.b
