Hi guys,
Have been looking through and cannot seem to see a 1200 s/port build thread is there one hear? I am wanting to do a low budget build on my ghia and want to keep the engine as is but just add the turbo. So looking for ideas. Thanks heaps guys. :)

It's a d/p but same displacement.

I think you might find, Clonebug's blow through thread will be more helpful. Hey Aussiesmuggler, I'm in Sydney. Dunno what state you're in but I almost did the same with a 1300SP. In the end, I decided to go 1600TP. A blow through setup will be easiest, probably using the stock carb, or a 34PICT. Clonebug did this on his car.

None of it is rocket surgery, but your big challenge will be finding a turbo small enough. I'd be looking at something off a 2litre diesel, JDM Kei car or similar. Even the tiny Subaru turbo I'm using will be too big for the 1200. Expect a maximum of around 100hp I'd say.

What are your HP goals for the 1200? When you want to make boost and how much boost can make a major difference in the correct turbo to meet your goals. I ran a TD04 12T from a Kubota diesel in my 1776 off road buggy and I could be at full boost (8lbs) by 3500 RPM in 1st gear when under load, was a blast off road but would be very annoying in a street car with the same displacement.
Good Luck
Kenric
