Rear Body - 72 Bug

I am trying to correct a bad repair that has been done to the rear bodywork so that the firewall is resting on the gearbox and 7-8mm to one side. My guess is that it was so rotted and they tried to replace the inner wigs and the rear panels by taking them all out at once or perhaps it had already collapsed.
I believe the firewall should be in the order of 10mm above - can anyone confirm or tell me what they have?
Should the rear shelf (behind the back seat) be in the same plane / level with the top of the heater channels/door cills/rocker panels? This one slopes down toward the rear bay about this 10mm.
