Hi everyone. Gathering parts for my 2.0L for my 72 Bus. So far what I have gathered.

1.7 Case - CA Code (Euro?)
2.0 Crank - .10 Rods - .20 Mains
2.0 Rods - FAT - w/ oil notch done
Scat C35 Cam w/gear and machined bolts
Oil pump modified by Raby

Any suggestions? Anybody with real world experience with this cam in their Bus?

Parts are starting to roll in.
Crank arrived as well as my piston and cylinders. During shipping a couple of fins chipped off. Head side.. Just half of the bolt circle.. Fustrated.
Ill see if I can figure out how to get a picture up.

Opinions on if this still be deemed okay to use?

I think it is fine but ---- the fins are not support or make that much difference in heat transfer. But I would hate installing it in a new built.

You paid for new. Ask the sender, that should not have happened in shipping. He did not make the cylinder, it was his manufacturer and It was not packed correctly.

Thanks for the response. They were not shipped in original box, and the packing was mediocre at best. They were new but sent out for balancing..
The box that had the crank in it looked pretty beat.. but the crank seems okay along with the other parts that were in there. (Head Studs, galley plugs, fan seal, cam bearings)
I have 1 more box coming from USPS that shows up today(Rods, Oil Pump, Cam) Lets see how this one does.
Also my case is on the way via: UPS

Thanks Clatter - I usually go there when doing research on a camshaft. Just wondering on real world experience.
Received all my parts that I ordered. Other than the cylinders being broken everything else looks fine. Waiting on replacement cylinders at the moment.
Is there a way to confirm the crank and rods are in fact 2L? Started reading through the 20 something pages on ToS, but am not finding what i'm looking for.
Also been trying to track down the dimensions for case and crank to see what size bearings I need to order. Anybody have this info?

The 1.7/1.8 have 55mm rod journals, like T1 but wider.
The 2L rods are insanely beefy esp compared to the 1.7/8 rods.

Hi guys. Wanted to update.
Seller of my parts replaced the cylinders with a new set. All other parts showed up fine.

Dropped all of my parts AND my engine that was in my bus to Jorge at EMW. Hell of a nice guy. He has already build a 1700 for me for a customer and I was pretty happy with it.
Not sure if he will use the cam I provided or use one of his own grinds. I pretty much gave him free reign to use or not use what ever parts he wanted.
Should be done any day now.

Got a call from Jorge earlier this week. Guess my original case was good to go after a line bore. After asking about what trans I was running (091 6 Rib) and what induction (Dual 36 Dellortos) and what kinda driving I do (pack it up to the gils and GO CAMPIMG!) He decided on one of his grind cams with some HD Springs. Thats about all I know at the moment. Itching to pick this thing up. I'll post more details when I get them.

Got my engine back yesterday. To say im getting excited is an understatement.
He ended up using his 106C cam (270 Duration X .425 Lift) with dual HD springs.

Im really excited to get my bus back on the road. I'll keep you posted.
On another note:
Managed to spin a bearing on my 1835 in my 67 and in the process of putting a 2332 in it. Too many project and not enough driving. Hopefully this changes soon.
