Flashers not working

I have 2 VWs and 1 (1968) is not indicating right and my other one (1971) went out in sympathy and isn't indicating left. What would be the things to look for first? Thanks

Fuses and bulbs first.

If indicating one way, and not the other, the problem is either bulbs, or the switch itself, your fuse is fine.

Update - one of them that has the right flasher working, the left will work if it is depressed slightly and held there, but won't work when pulled all the way down. Fuses fine and bulbs fine.
