It's been 4 years?! I remember looking up your stats on the car a long time ago after I saw some of your driving vids. Looked like it drove nice and went like stink!

Hey Buguy, yeah, 4 years have gone by very quickly. It was shortly after the clip of me doing the trackday in episode 2 that I took the car off the road..... that was July 2014! 😳

Anyway, 2019 will be the year! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Did something happen to it or did you just get bored with it?

The turbo died a couple of weeks after doing that trackday. I was mid way through building an extension on my house and had no garage to put the car in, so I shelved it until I’d built my new garage.
18 months later, once I’d built my garage I realised that the UK weather had started to get the better of the heater channels, so then I had to wait until I had the funds to get new channels and floorpans welded in.
I also had a couple of children in that time too! πŸ˜‚
So, a busy family life has meant that I haven’t had much time to work on it.

Haha! With no car you were in the house too much! Which leads to more children!

Yes, I’ve come to realise that, which is why I plan to spend more time in the garage! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hey Panel, I think I may have posted a reply to your question over on YouTube, but here’s a quick copy and paste, just in case it wasn’t you:

It’s 1776cc type 1 VW aircooled engine. Air / water chargecooler. EFI controlled by an Emerald K3 ECU. TD04-13T turbocharger running 21psi using external Turbosmart Gate38 wastegate. Original VW crank with welded counterweights. Original VW 411 rods. Forged 90.5mm barrels and pistons. Engle TCS10 cam. 7.5:1 static compression ratio. Bolt on 1.1:1 rockers. CB 044 Magnum Heads. Modified CB hideaway turbo header. Rover K Series throttle body. CB fuel injection end castings and fuel rails. Rover 220 Turbo fuel injectors. Ford crank position sensor. Ford Gen2 coil pack. Walbro 244 lph fuel pump.

It was dyno’d at 194HP / 222lb torque back in 2013, but I plan to get it back on the Dyno once I’ve finished the air box I mention in the latest video:

Thanks Panel. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

The fender flares are getting a lot of interest!
I made them myself from scratch, so not completely perfect and symmetrical but I’m happy with how they look.
Some people have asked if I’d produce more sets to sell..... maybe a winter project....? πŸ˜‰
