Wrapped exhaust
So I wrapped my exhaust a few days ago but I just had a chance to drive my car today. I noticed a few things......the temps coming out of the turbo are a little hotter at idle now ( I guess due to the wrapped exhaust) also the sound of the turbo is different once I turned the car off....don't know what that is about. I can actually touch my exhaust at idle now without losing skin.

Re: Wrapped exhaust
I just watched a video the other day that showed a guy that wrapped his vw turbo header and took it off a few weeks later. It jacked his pipe real bad. But it was mild steel. It was rusty and flaking after just that short time.
With a carb and drawthrough it super cools air/fuel coming into the turbo. Surely not as good as an intercooler though. My intake gets ice on it in the summer here. I'm hoping the E85 is even cooler!

My header is mild steel and wrapped. It's fine. However, I had it properly ceramic coated before wrapping it.buguy wrote: βTue Dec 25, 2018 8:13 pm I just watched a video the other day that showed a guy that wrapped his vw turbo header and took it off a few weeks later.
