Combating the dust

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Hahaaaa. Get dusty but haven’t had a problem with fog. By the time we get rolling fog isn’t a problem.

Hopefully most of the rose the dust will be blowing sideways and not against us. Except for silt pits, the worst.

I have been considering a Parker Pumper and full faced helmet. Looking for a deal. I have a couple of friends with SxSs that have this since they are required to wear helmets and have no windshield.

I have a Parker system and a very expensive helmet and skirt. It is by far the best, and is way more comfortable then the headsets. However on a site seeing trip/trail they are not the best for taking it all in visually.

Leather, I now use a full face helmet with a full face shield that can be raised and lowered; under it I usually wear a Balaklava. This way no scarf or goggles are needed.

there are many types of balaclavas with some having holes for the eyes, nose and mouth with some having one hole for both the eyes but nothing else. This is the type I have. Skier and many hiking supply shops carry many of the different styles (https://www.bing.com/shop?q=skiing+bala ... 7072168405).

Granted it isn't as warm in southern OR as in So. CA but then "stupid" still has to be accounted for. I haven't be T-boned or a head on yet but had some close calls. My wife did get hit in the Pilot but not hurt. Some damage was done but fixable.

Stay inside.... :D

In the summer it can be pretty nice but most of the time there is a North wind blowing... not hard but sand can get airborne. Not to sand blasting territory usually but just enough for eye and breathing coverage. A full face helmet is a good start.

When the rain hits then the sand gets heavy but usually still ridable. When the big storms come in then brother you better be aware of what you are driving into climbing a dune.

Loves those Husky’s. If you get one let us know how it does. I get to stupid to do dirt bikes anymore, I outrun my talent real quick.
