Bugpack 4062 1600 solex 34pict3 wont idle
Is running a 009 iv swapped the electronic out for points
Stripped and checked the carb multiple times and tried another
Timed at full advance 30deg
Will idle if warm if choke is engaged
Revs lovely no lumps

What the hell am i doing wrong:/ i can pull a vacuum dizzy off my other car if u think its that?

Do you have the throttle plate adjusted correctly then adjust your two screws on the drivers side of the carb?

Yes mate adjusted them
The screws only make a difference if the revs are high or if the choke is on

Checked for leaks nothing

The only thing I could think of if that is set would be a clogged idle jet or a bad fuel shut off solenoid

That carb should have the throttle plate barely cracked open and the idle speed should be set with the big screw on the side. Then the small screw leans or richens the idle. If the throttle plate is open too far you will expose some of the progression ports and it will be a bitch to tune

Do what ur saying is it should be cold with the choke plate shut to tune idle?

The engine should be warm to tune the idle. The small screw on the throttle arm should be backed all the way out then turned in till it barely touches the choke cam(with the choke open) open up the big screw(idle air bypass) so it runs at a pretty high idle then screw it in to lower the idle(you will probably have to mess with the idle mixture screw to get it to run smooth enough to keep dropping your idle)

Oh right yes thats how I usually set them
This one will just not play ball it wont respond to the big screw unless the choke is set
Iv even swapped jets about to how it says onliiy should have

That would be a uncommon occurrence. Is there any part that is shared between both carbs? Hows your fuel pressure

Yea i guess it could be
I presume its ok the float bowl is always full
I can try another pump

Could it be a few tight valves not opening properly and due to the higher lift cam ?
