Here I am in my shop tearing apart my heads and I’m running into problems trying to get the valves out. I have tried three different compressor tools and most of them suck. I’ve tried the big c clamp looking thing but that will not work because the valve is to low a hits the side of the head. Pry bar type will not bolt up correctly and it also hits the side of the head
The last one is the wine bottle opener type and that is the one I have the best luck with but still can’t get the last two springs compressed enough to get the keys out. Starting to wonder if those valves might be bent.
What type of tool do you guys use for this situation? And any ‘‘tips or trick would be helpful as well.

I have a 50mm piece of 25mm box steel , with 2 large Vee's cut in 2 opposite sides . I then use a drill press . I've a piece of timber with timber blocks to support the valves that I sit the head on . then just place the box steal on the retainer and centre the lot under the chuck and use the drill press as a press . use a magnet to remove the locks through the Vee's cut in the box . It is a very quick system .

I use the Empi t1 tool for removing the springs. Only thing you have to modify to make it work for t4 heads is to remove the two square tubes that will support the valves. I use a piece of wood for that.

Ps. Its rather had to compress double valve springs but it works fine with an extension on the tube.

I used my little bench top drill press, chocked the head with some wood shims under it so valves were parallel with spindle, then put a U shaped piece of metal on the retainer. Lever the spindle down and bam valve is out.
