Want to install a VDO oil temp sensor from JBugs. It looks like it's intended to be installed in an oil pressure relief plug port. Any guidance how I can identify one of these ports?

I've seen people put "Tee" fittings where the original oil sender goes, allowing an additional sender to be installed. It can be tight and sometimes difficult. Just be patient and search for fittings to extend the port out far enough to allow the extra fitting and the original.

Others may have different input as well. this is just the more common thing I've seen.

I have put that sensor in lieu of the oil pressure relief plug and also used the fitting adapter that fits in the stock pressure switch hole and tee's off. They both work fine in my opinion

Does the oil pressure relief plug serve to send oil pressure to a gauge or is it a pressure release plug that acts like a pressure relief valve on a hot water tank in the house?

The oil pressure relief plug is on the bottom of the case and holds in a spring, oil pressure relief valve, and engine oil. They originally look like a flathead screw with a compression washer

Best place for one is on a remote oil filter line where you have good oil flow past the sensor. Using a T out of the block doesn't get any oil flow and is less accurate.
