What's the most boost used

So i was just curious. What is the most boost you've seen or seen someone else run on a VW engine? No billet, standard head studs etc..

22 psi. With water meth injection and an Intercooler. All stock mystery motor.

Either. Just curious on a VW engine. I'm sure some of the big time racers run nutty boost with billet blocks and or cases with extra head studs and things like that. So just standard VW, stock case or aftermarket standard type case. Mag or aluminum.

I personally saw 31.6 or something around there once on my own 1600, but i know there has to be guys out there running more than that.
Nicklas surely is running big boost to turn those crazy et's!

I've ran 22 lbs. with my 1915cc and i turned it down because all the car did was spin tires every shift,at 12-15 lbs. it hooked up way better

Nice. I haven't ran more than 12 psi in mine yet, but it was getting loose in second. Mine seems to get more slippery at the top of the gears (or at least once it makes Max boost) more so than at the shift.
I would assume there is a cap on the boost somewhere because the heads would have to start to lift at some point.

Dave Kadwell did some dyno testing on 94mm pistons & cyl's I'll try and find them results

My 2165cc made 501whp on 32psi.

Aluminium case. 4x10mm studs per cylinder.

No fancy stuff.

32psi is not that much...

I think i remember that, but i believe he split a cylinder at fairly low boost.

That's awesome! What kind of compression was/is that engine?

I think those split at around 36 psi. But I can’t seem to find the whole article on how it was set up. Blow through or draw through and ignition timing.

I remember reading one some where where a guy saw a 45psi spike due to a severed waste gate line then torched a cylinder head. But who knows as his gauge maxed at 45.
