I am considering buying a 1974 Thing with unknown mileage (marked “exempt” on the title). Should I be concerned about having trouble reselling later? Estimated at 150K.

FYI – It is a well-documented older total strip down restoration – down to bare metal paint job, new engine, new top and frame, gas tank, front end to beading and nuts and bolts.

There are two Things up for sale here. One is out of state and they are asking $24,700. The other one is local and they are asking 12,000: if that helps any.

What would you rather buy, a rusted out car with 40k original documented miles on it, or a rust free car with 150k miles on it?
When you're buying a really old car, the mileage is meaningless.
