Cam shaft impossible to time

Hello everybody merry Christmas ,
Building my type 4 engine and tried to degree my cam (86b) it seems do be way too advanced . Here are some pics for you to check , even by eye you can see that it’s too advanced . Using type 1 lifters .

To me it looks like the gear is mis-clocked. Beetles normally the oil pump drive slot to be pointing at the timing mark (3 bolts)

On type 4 engines its foolproof , they have a pattern and the gear. Can’t be misplaced

Have you verified that TDC is right .

Look I haven’t but it looks even by eye that it’s waaaay off .
Tdc is very close though did measure it roughly before pulling the old engine apart

Please remove those internal tooth lockwashers. Use waves or just Loctite.

VERIFY TDC AND THEN TAKE YOUR CAM CARD AND GO BY THAT...
