Hi guys

I am building an new engine with these parts

Autolinea alu case 94 fullflow
CB 84 Crankshaft with chevy journals
CB H beam 5,325 conrods
26mm fullflow oilpump
Mahle 94x82 forged pistonkit
Dual Idf 44 with Misab manifold
1,25 bolted valvetrain

Was thinking about a CB 2280 or a W120 cam

And ported standard heads with stainless valves or CB 044 round port heads 40x35,5

Any one know how much pistonwork it is with 5,325 rods on 84 stroke?

Have all the listed parts, what do you think?

Interesting combo..
Couple of thoughts.

1. Why not convert a type 4 to upright cooling?
You'll get a motor that lasts about 5x as long,
You're buying basically everything anyways..
The big thing about type 4s is they have WAY more cooling capabilities,
and if you make more power, you make more heat, and it has to be shed
(oil coolers don't cool heads).

2. Pistonwork?
'B' pistons are designed to work with an 82 crank and stock-length rods (5.325).
If you run an 84 crank, it means 1mm more shim under the cylinders.
You might have to clearance the bottoms of the piston skirts for the crank counterweights at BDC..
Most put a bit longer rod (and shim) in rather than remove skirt.

3. I'd vote Web 218 for the cam.

4. Stock valve sizes would be a waste on such a large motor.
If you need heaters, go ahead and pop for some 1 1/2 heaters, or even 1 5/8".
Panchitos would be a good choice.

All in all, I'd be thinking what you want to use this for.
Is it a passenger bus mostly empty going to cars n' coffee,
or a fully-loaded camper hammering clear across AZ in summer?

but i have a type 4.

And they got out a blank sheet of paper for good reason.

What you are proposing here is a pretty sound combo,
but the reality of parts today and their quality,
Plus the physics involved with long strokes in a bus,
Know that what it isn't likely to live long, and will require very careful attention.
