guys, we lost a good one

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

For those of you that don't now, we lost Gary Davis over the weekend per family posts on Facebook. RIP "turboblue"

No details, just he's gone. Please say a prayer for his family. He is an old school STF Dirtpile member and will be missed.

God speed Gary

Saddened to see this. I've know Gary for 20+ years and considered him a real 'friend'. He was a big help when I first got into VWs in the '90s, always taking my calls and/or providing advice, even lending me his shop and lift to work on my cars. I spent a lot of time at Davis Racing over the years and with Gary at events across the Midwest. I hadn't seen him since he sold his shop a couple years ago, but we exchanged emails just a few weeks ago and were looking to meet and catch-up. Opportunity missed. As you said, Gary was definitely one of the 'good ones' and I'll miss him. May he rest in peace.
