Hey, I'm new to this form and about two months into my build. I got a great 79 bus that I'm pretty sure sat around for a long time. Very minor body damage and original paint. I'm stripping it down section by section and building it from the ground up to turn it into what will hopefully someday be an offroad capable camper van but I'm keeping the hardtop, no pop top for me I like the van look.
Its been going pretty well so far but I'm running into engine issues earlier on in the build than I had hoped and hopped on this form to check out some rebuild/build threads. I'm a typical low budget do it yourselfer, I'm not looking to win the pikes peak hillclimb, but I would like to double my stock 70 hp and add a better generator/alternator. I just installed a new head unit and started prepping the back for a new seat/bed and speakers (two solobaric 8" and a 4000w peak amp that runs off a seperate AGM battery).
Look forward to reading about all your much cooler builds, someday I'll figure out how to post pictures on here.
Jake
