I'd rather keep tranny posts in the type 1, 2, 3, or racing forums.

I feel a transmission forum would be great. It's too confusing to cross post and then those who do conversions are having to post multiple threads. I "second" the tranny forum suggestion. The Type 1, 2, & 3 all have the same trans so why not combine them in one forum.

Perfect example, posts to convert a Bus gearbox into a Bug can be found in 5 forums...

Type I
Off Road
Bus Barn
Eurolook
Conversions

...we need a transmission forum.

The same questions are asked over, and over, and over. Just about everything anyone seems to want to know has been discussed repeatedly, all you need to do is learn how to use the Search feature.
Add that 90% of the people asking questions about trans modifications will never build one in their lives and are going to get whatever their builder gives tham anyway, whether or not they know the difference :?
When and if we get a trans forum I hope there's some new material.

The same questions ar asked over, and over on a lot of the forums.but we have forums for engine building and not a lot off people will build one.and the same for a lot of the forums. haw meny times have you been at the track and seen people runing a big engine and stock trans and seen them snap a axle or wheel hop be cos they have no one to asked wat we need is a forum for trans and fiting.and the sam gose for the engine. a lot of people think it is in the engine and sume in the trans but a lot of the time it is in the fiting.of the engine and trans. money can by a lot but you can not by experance.

I second/third/whatever the tranny forum idea. I've rebuild a couple, and if you dont know what you're doing in there it can be kind of scary. Lets give all the people with fears of doing such things a place to come and ask questions without feeling rejected.

Transmission forum... not too hard...

How about the engine and transaxle building forum.
or powertrain building forum.

no? just an idea. I bet scottk thinks that broader forums are better than too many narrow forums. I agree.
