im going to be buying a new 1600 and i am wandering should i get the one with solid lifters or the one with hydraulis lifters? this is my daily to and from work car. any opinions would be appreciated. thank you

It really comes down to Do you ever want to adjust your valves. If you would rather not adjust valves ever, go with the hydraulic, they are self adjusting. If you don't mind and want an original style engine, get solid. Also, the hydraulic engines often come with an oil filter.

Both work the same. Both are great. It's a matter of maintenance

I have both, and I'd recommend hydraulic. It's quieter, and should last longer. The factory version is the same as used in type 4 and waterboxers, and experience over the years has been very good for normal use.
