68 clutch to an IRS
I have a 68 sp with the same clutch that I used on my 68 swingaxel tranny. I am now putting this motor on an IRS tranny (don't know the exact year). Will this clutch work with this tranny?

The clutch covers with a ring in the center were used through 1970 - if the release bearing setup on the IRS trans looks the same as it did on your `68, it'll work fine. A `71 IRS trans can have the cross-shaft and bearing replaced with parts from an older trans too, but starting in `72 the cross-shaft diameter is much larger so that's not an option. Many 3-finger early covers will work on the later release bearing setup if you just remove the ring (put the cover on the floor and step on the levers to make it easier to pry the spring bales over the ears of the ring without distorting them - the bales need to stay).
