brake parts
Anyone know for sure what brake parts are still available/usable from other 'types'? I have been told that 1303 front drum pads can be used as pads for the rear... Anything else?

The rear brakes are the same as the type 3, the front wheel cylinders are the same as the Super Beetle (1302/3) fronts. As for the pads I think so, and I beleive the rotors and calipers are the same too, but may be the same as later type 3 (71+)

I recently got & installed a rebuilt master cylinder from NAPAOnline.com for my '74 412. Looks original, works good. They also claim to have new master cylinders for ~$185. Only problem, it took about a month. Apparently not a on the shelf item, Although the box come with the name, address & phone number of their supplier, which may be a faster cheaper path. Any questions, email me.
