Hello
Riechert is the correct address.
Those carbs can be used up to 115 HP ( I had a 105 HP 2,0 in a 412 Variant ) in fact Opel used one for a 90 HP engine.
First is to check if you have the 75 or 85 HP version and how good is there condition.
Bergen isn´t to far from Riechert, Theo Decker or Oettinger.
And it was very much guesswork, Hartmann in Stuttgart made it in 2 hours. Wrong seting will run to lean and your engine gets killed.

there not any good at the minute went to rebuild and the idle screw snapped of in the housing even after warming and oiling i was badly gutted but looks like i got a handle on some dcnfs that should fit undr my t3 deck sweat .
ill see how it goes with the pdsit 36-40 as im sending the butterfly of to a pro to see if it can be fixed and i may also be getting a second set of these carbs also
working on the principle i can chose the ones i want to use and sell the rest nicely rebuilt.

Hello
Isn´t it funny two germans writing in runaway english ( denglish ).
Now I prefer to stay on the board as others may have input or we can leave some footnotes for further discussions.
The PDSIT 40´s have some weak points. Also original VW units are quite rar they only came 74 on the 412 & 914. On the 914 the survived up to 76.
I good rebuild will run in costs where JC Whitney, Eurorace or Red Lion have complete low profile kits. But the low side is most of the in the uS sold carbs are made in Mexico or somwhere else and are dirt cheap and sometimes disapier over the years. Also the linkage and the manifolds are also pooorest ever seen this side from the moon.
So on the end you can get some serious stuff from the staates or in germany and pay the same amount or you get dirt cheap things an will trash them in some years.
Hope others on this board have input on that.
A good carb specialist will preset the carb if you give them your engine data so they are just bolt on and synchronizing and some fine adjusting but no jet work. ( Ahnendorp & Red Lion managed good work ).
