Is there anyone out there I can rack your brain about...My VW 412 breaks down every 3 months and this time I am at a loss. Some how something on the car is telling ALL of my fuel injector to push too much fuel into the system. I have tried almost everything (and YES I tried injector cleaner) as far as I can tell that is what is occuring in my car.I am thinking that it is the fuel pressure regulator, but if I am wrong I do not want to change a part that could possibly not be the problem all together.
If any of you can think of what could be causing this send me an e-mail becuase I do not visit this message board very often.

Hello, there are more than a handful of things that may cause this: The cold start injector may be either leaking...or have a bad thermotime switch, causing it to inject all the time (this is quite common). You may also have leaky injectors at your cylinders. The main fuel mixture may be waaaay off. This could be due to bad head temperature sensor, a bad diaphram in the back of the manifold pressure sensor...or in the case of the 74 model with AFC injection...it could have water or corrosion in the contact box at the Air flow meter. You may also have a serious vacume leak. If you have D-jet injection...this will cause very rich running...but not on the AFC controlled injection. Yes you may also have a frozen pressure regulator...or a crimp in the return line. Check all of the above. Are you saying it is just running very rich..(black exhaust...low gas milage...fouled plugs)...or is it actually flooding out? Ray
