74 412 wagon

Post by woodie »

I just picked up a 74 type 4 wagon, I was thinking of using the engine in my Bug. But after washing it and seeing just how nice the body is I think that I'm going to sell it and use the money on a 67 Bug that I picked up yesterday(it need lots of money). So anyone interested in a nice 74 type4 wagon. It was parked for 2 years right after a tune up. The gas in it is two years old so I didn't try and start it yet. I'm going to drain and flush the FI system next weekend. It's an Auto tranny, Brakes work, Interior is so so, needs head liner. I'm thinking $1000. Or I will full/part trade for type I parts. Save a typeIV now!

this is the same 412 wagon that you posted about last week that you bought for $90? And now you want $1000? What are we saving? Your bank account?

No thanks.

Just my $.02 :

If I were you, I wouldn't announce the prices of anything I'm going to buy or sell, (or both), because then you get the flak for it... Like adam412. If you're gonna discuss prices, email potential buyers/sellers with the info. It's just a little more polite that way, especially with personal sales. If you were a dealer, that'd be a little different... But that's just my opinion. It might still be a good buy for someone, regardless of how much you spent on it initially. Personally, I would like to have a T4 car (I already have an engine for my bug) someday, but I've unwillingly (for VERY cheap, mind you...) fallen into owning 2 bugs and a Karmann Ghia and I can hardly afford to work on the Super, let alone another Standard beetle AND a KG... I sure as hell ain't getting rid of them, though! Image

Thanks for the advice. I'm new to talking on line. I know what you mean about to many cars. I now have 2 T-I's and the T-IV.

Woodie. a buddy of mine has recently aquired a 67 sunroof body. He says it's fairly clean and he has no room to keep it. Would you be interested? He lives off of Sunnyslope Rd in Bremerton. email me at rarvey1@attbi.com and I will get word to him (he has no phone of his own). ~~Gene

A 67 sunroof? Not a type 4. First years, europe only...were 68. Never even seen one. The earliest I have seen was 70...over here. And have only even heard of one reputable person on this continent owning a 69. Perhaps this is a type 3 you are thinking of? Ray

There were 2 and 4 door type 4's and two door wagons...but no 67 production models of any type 4. Ray

Gotta totally agree with 1967fastback, what the car is worth and what he paid for it are two totally different things. it might still be a bargin at a thousand.

I think we can all agree it's worth more then 90 bucks. Why should he resell it for 90 bucks???
