Dellorto Carb Questions

Dear Friends
I recently got of a pair of Dellorto 36 DRLA Carbs (ex-Alfa Romeo). I want to fit them to the Type 4 engine of my 1973 412 Variant. The car currently runs on a pair of standard Solex carbs, but wear on the carbs's butterly axles have made a perfect synchronisation almost impossible = high fuel bills! I plan to modify Type 4 fuel injection manifolds (I've got a few to 'waste'!) to fit the Dellortos. Should I connect a balance pipe between the 4 ports, like that of the Solex setup? (The holes where the injectors were should be ideal for the pipe's fittings.)
What are the pros and cons of running the Dellorto 36 DRLAs on the standard 1700cc engine? I am not worried about high performance, I just want a reasonably economical daily runnner. Is it neccesary to fit a return fuel line from the second carb, like that of a fuel injected Type 4? Are there any restrictions on the fuel pressure, or is a FACET electrical pump OK? Will it be possible to configure the setup to fit under the limited space of the Variant's engine lid?
Am I asking too many stupid questions???
Regards
