I guess by now everyone has seen the type iv with air suspension on the Feb VW Trends. I have a question regarding the setup. If anyone has seen this car in person or has any relevant information about it, I'd appreciate some help. I'm installing air suspension in my super beetle and need some ideas to guide me regarding the front setup. The rear is done already.
The front of a superbeetle and type iv share a similar design, so I was searching for ideas. Anyone have any ideas on how to add air suspension on the front end? I was thinking about making a crossmember between the struts. Then I would use some air cylinders to connect between the crossmember and lower control arm. This would require removing the coil from the strut. Any criticisms? Thanx for the help.
