2 more dumb question

Greetings all! OK, so why does the master cylinder in my '74 4-door squeak. It's driving me crazy! It works GREAT, but the squeaking... Question number 2, The front seats are supposed to have a spring that goes from the back legs of the seat to some MYSTERIOUS place. Any idea where that migh be???

You will probably find that it is not the cylinder squeeking...but the bushing on the pivot pin for the pedal. It needs some grease. The spring you are speaking of is probably actually suposed to be attached to the seat rail portion that is welded to the body. The only spring down there is to keep tension on the heateer flap so it returns to closed position when you shift from defroster to heater with the lever nxt to the shifter. Ray
