Can anybody tell me the difference between the 930 cv's and the 944's? Also are the 911's same as 930?
Thanks, Steve

I am not sure of all of the differences. Are you looking for CV's for a 411/412..or something else? There were two different ones used in the type 4. Ray

Actually, I am building a sandrail. The latest thing is to use 930 cv's for a little extra travel. I have heard that the 911 turbo is the 930. I was wondering if the 911 and 930 shared the same cv or if the 930 got a beefier one? Then I was curious about the 944, whether it was same size as 930? Just trying to research this subject before I spend lots of money, and end up with wrong setup.
Thanks, Steve

From what little I have read, the 930 is beefier. It should use the same shaft size as the 911, but is a little thicker giving it a deeper cage. Better mobility would make sense in that case. It is usually swapped into 911's..so it would probably be beefier.Let us know what you find out...I'm curious now too. Ray

I know I am late to this thread, but here is some helpful info on the subject. You guys have
got to spend some time on the Off-Road forum, stuff like this comes up there all the time!

the VW CVs can operate safely at different angles
Least Bug
Next Bus or Transport
Next Thing 412 944 and they are all the same Part #
The above two are said to be interchangable in a pinch.
Thing / 412 CVs are available new at Doghouse
Th 930 are the best but require different axels, the number of splines are not =.
