Howdy all,
My new '70 Ghia coupe is an autostick. Though maintaining it as stock has definite appeal, I am seriously considering a change to manual (mine is one without the clutch tube, so I have to install it). I know auto sticks are generally not well received in the VW community (hell, I'm not thrilled with it either), but good parts are good parts. What is the value of the trans, engine (rebuilt), servo, vacuum tank, control valve, stick shift and pedal assembly, all in working order, if offered for sale as a package deal? Any guesses would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Dan

My suggestion is keep all the stock parts (auto stick,,, they're getting rare and somewhat expensive). The maintnence on them is very expensive and finding parts for them is hard but finding someone that knows what they're doing is even rarer. If this is a car that you really care about then keep it, otherwise (if I were you) I would find another car, or if you keep it IMHO I would keep it autostick (itll be worth something one day). I am lucky and am going to switch mine. Autostick is not that bad, but I prefer the better gassmilage due to me being in highschool. Good luck with you decidion and I hope this helps, if you already didnt know this.

I've got a 71 autostick and I love it! I'm always looking for spare parts. If you decide to convert, let me know, I'll make an offer on the parts.
