i read the bently manual and beforegetting to it i decided to ask .my vw bus is sitting a little on the back and i will like to know how to raise it to make it look even.can i put smaller shocks on the front to lower it and give it the look.is not to much but you cxan tell.it looks like is allways loaded.any ideas?

Here's two ways you can do this. One way is to just replace the rear torsion bars with new ones. Another method is to move the rear trailing arm one spline, either inner or outer but what's done to one, do to the other. In other words, move one outer spline on the left, move one outer spline on the right. This is common for folks running Baja bugs and really isn't that hard. Just a few hours, patience and being careful. The front shock thing won't really work since the shocks are absorbing the rebound and thus hammering themselves to pieces. This will gernade a pair of shocks real quick and/or bend the shock towers not to mention the harsh clunking until they break.

Is your rear end sagging Danny?

Common malady, particularly with Window Vans. Panel Vans and Westfalias had heavier duty rear torsion bars. If you are going to fix the sag, and your van is a Window Van, you may want to pull some torsion bars from a junked panel or westy.
