Hi guys I was looking into porsche cookie cutters for my bus and I have seen them on bay windows befor but the problem is the bay window 5 lug patern is 112mm and the porsche cookie 5 lug patern is 130mm. My question is how do these guys run cookie cutters? Do they run adapters or do they get the rims redrilled? This isent anything im planing on doing soon but was wondering how it was done
keep reading these forums.. try a few of the other areas.. euro-look is a nie place for information..
they ususally use adapters.(not a good idea)
or special drilled drums/discs. there are a few vendors available with these items.. check a Hot-VW's or VW trends.. it's a little less common on the Bus TypeII than the beetle.. but still doable..
your biggest resource is research..
the more you know the less you'll end up wasting. not the less you'll spend.. but only doing a job once is a savings.
the thing is you can't just put new drums on the hub is the part that actually has the studs for mounting the wheels, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to mount this set I've had sitting under my bed for the past 3 years.
I've been trying to research and see if 944 hubs and brakes would work, but I'm not sure if they would be able to take the weight of a bus and no-one else seems to know, I don't want to spend lots of money and time and then be driving down the road and have the rear end fall apart on me.
offset can be a problem with the Mercedes rims ...
Bolt pattern is the same, but the wheels end up too much outboard or inboard, is my understanding (don't remember which -- outboard I think) and this puts stress on your bearings.
Hi guys I have also seen empi fives on late bay windows and they are drilled for 112 but the old holes are filled and it looks like they are casted that way. Does anyone make empi fives in 112 or does anyone know how much it would cost to have them redrilled?
