Air Bags

Post by Strobe »

-I am thinkin of putting air bags on my 66 Type 1. I just don't know where I would put the compressor and tank. I can't put it behind the rear seat, because I have an amp and 12" sub back there. Any ideas? VS OUT.

How about you spare tire well, or high up in the trunk above the gas tank. Image

How about above the trans? What size of compressor are you looking at? You could get away with just a tank if you wanted.

under the rear seat would be so cool. The compessor for bags are really small so they would fit, but i dont know about the tank. I bet you could get a couple really narrow tanks to fit. I had decided that The sub was going in the front, the amps under the seats, and the air tank in the back, but I may have to rethink this now Image

isnt it funny that people automatically think of safety air bags first, I'm the oppisite, someone says dual air bags, and I'm like how does it ride?

you can fit the tank in the trunk, between the dash and the gastank. In the article in HOTVWs for the airlift kit, they had it mounted there. I'm probably going to mount mine in the trunk of my square.

69three, you're putting air bags in the '66?
Don't you have to get it working first? LOL
j/k. That would be cool though...
