Head Question
I have a stock 2.0L Vanagon engine. The cylinder heads are crap. I plan on putting this engine into my baja. Is it possible (or smart) to use earlier model heads. The only difference ive seen between the two are the way the headpipes mount to the cylinder heads. Any help would be nice.

Head Question
Panzer,
The 2.0L Vanagon heads also have 37mm intakes
compared to the '74-'75 heads which have
Oval exhaust, larger valves (41mm) and valve
springs set up for a mechanical cam. The
earlier '74 heads are a bolt on.
The Vanagon case (CV prefix serial #) has a
closed breather tower. The engine case can be
used as is or machined for a 911 or Type 1
style upright shroud. Whatever set up you
use, keep the rear engine support bar and
hook it up to your rear engine cage.
