I would go with bigger valves 42x36 atleast, porting and polishing, a free flowing exhaust system, 96mm P&C's, balancing all the rotating parts. What is this engine out of? If it's a 914, you are almost there with 85 hp.

It is out of a 914. My primary concern is that the engine has to be strong and reliable. It would be nice to have peek torque at about 75% power.
This engine will be hung on the front of an airplane.

I am not sure what the peak torque is for a 1.7. For a 2.0L it is at 4300rpm, atleast that's on my engine's dyno sheet. Peak HP is from 4500 to 5300 rpm's.

I have a 1.7L FI typeIV that I would like to get 90hp from. The FI has to stay and the compression shouldn't go higher than 8.2. Any sugestions?
Thanks Al.
