Well this is my chance to regurgitate what others have told me even though I have no real experience with the subject. Ahem, the fiberglass floor panels are not as strong as steel and should not be used. Now, I don't know if that's right but I've heard it from people I trust. The panels are supposed to be the same as a Ghia so you can buy them anywhere.

Dan, I used the metal floor pans from Things Unlimited in Ft Walton Beach Fl. I paid about $75 bucks with shipping for a hallf pan. Was enough to do my battery area and to make repairs to the section in front under the hood.
Joe I think what the deal is with the KG pans is that they are of the same dimension and interchangable but the surface is different. This is to assist draining in the 181. I compared recently with my friends restored KG floor and found this to be true. Also worth note is that the seat brackets are different as well. Good luck. Bob

I restored a 1960 convertible Karmann Ghia by using both 1975 Safari used floor pans; they fit perfectly. The differences are in the tunnel shape and seat rails. 1972 and before Safaris will come with the same ribs as Ghias prior to 67, 68 and up equal to Thigs-Safaris 1973-80.

Those are the 16 ga Denmark panhalves.
I know three people who have bought them and are thrilled. Bad news no seat rails are included. Good news all three were going with Beard seats so this was aplus for them.
